A New Local Business

Keeping Money Local

Don’t Overthink It. You Can Have What You Want

Sometimes you procrastinate doing what you really want to do out of fear. For me the legal factor is draining and the scariest part of a business. I have the work ethic you need to start to start a business, as I always give it my all. I am willing to lose sleep to ensure my customers are happy, but starting out, any small thing can ruin a business. So I kept putting it off and working for a local company I was familiar with to be safe.

One day you just can’t wait any longer. Being able to fully own property will take years for anyone with a normal job. To be able to one-day own property is what keeps me going. I want the right to continue to upgrade MY home and always be working on improving. Owning a business, where I can help others with what I want to do, is a way of living my dream through them. My dream is to simply own a house and continuously improve it, and live within a tight-knit community where I can know everyone. That is the extent of what I desire, and I realize other people desire similar lives, I want to help them get there too.

Business Owners, Be Charitable

Being charitable is what a business owner that has what they truly want should invest in, I want to be that guy. Maybe I will indulge in a dream car and a few nice pieces of furniture or clothes, but that is not where my focus is. Everyone needs to help themselves within the society we are forced into, and then help the maximum amount of people they can after that.

My focus for helping people is in women’s shelters and affordable/ safe housing. Particularly, I want to see the money and items I bring to the charities used properly, so I like to donate to charities I can visit. Appreciated Estates Inc. will be donating profits every year to local charities, in the month of December.

Simcoe County has a lot of charities that can help people who have been dealt a bad hand. Please support them if you can.

Buy Local

Money spent in your community will be used for causes that matter. I have spent way more money than a lot of people at Amazon.ca, the convenience is amazing, but do I agree with their mission? No.

Now I invest in local much more often, because I want there to be money flowing into community charities. My advice is to look at companies that make donations to charities you care about. Maybe there are businesses that buy from them too, and spend money there too. Attempt to ensure that your dollars are ending up in good places. It might sound ridiculous to think about an interior design company spending its profits on women’s shelters, but it is going to take place every December.

Buy local. Simple concept, but who really does it? Local businesses should, even if it is for personal gain because it is networking. Businesses you consume from have mission statements when they care. You can support their cause, by supporting them. Local businesses have a price hike because they usually have to, but maybe they are spending more money because they only support local. Doing good is expensive. If we don’t support local, everything will eventually be owned by one company. The board game Monopoly was created to warn us of this system. So, help yourself by helping good local companies. Take the time to look into where you are putting your money, it is for the greater good.

If you really want to know what happened with the profits of your purchase, contact me or other local businesses. I personally would love to tell you.
